1. Trump criticizes Zelenskiy
Trump called for Ukraine to choose a new leader, saying Zelenskiy had failed to make deals, and said Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries “better damn well stop.” Zelenskiy criticized Trump's diesel deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying it emboldened Moscow.
2. Deadly strike in Zaporizhzhia
A Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia killed 20 people, including three children. Zelenskiy said Russia had dropped five glide bombs on residential buildings after the sanctions decision; a six-year-old girl was among those killed.
3. Diesel and peace talks
Russia said it had partially lifted a ban on diesel exports with immediate effect. The deal was announced while Ukrainian and European officials met with US negotiators in Miami to develop a proposal for ending the war; Putin said an immediate resumption of peace talks was unlikely.
