1. Iran’s proposal
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran sent its plan to Washington through Qatari mediators. It calls for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending hostilities on all fronts within seven days, in exchange for the United States lifting its blockade on Iranian ports, releasing frozen Iranian funds and waiving oil sanctions.

Araqchi said the proposal could lead to wider talks on mutually agreed subjects. The seven-month-old conflict has disrupted oil flows through the strait and drawn in regional powers; the United Nations children’s agency reported rising acute malnutrition among children in Yemen.
