Tsakos Energy Navigation Orders Second LNG Carrier for Q1 2029 Delivery, Expands 20-Vessel Program
TEN•Tsakos Energy Navigation ordered a second LNG carrier from Hyundai Heavy Industries for delivery in Q1 2029, expanding its 20-vessel newbuilding program. The Anfield DP shuttle tanker will deliver in July 2026 under a minimum 10-year charter to a U.S. oil major, locking in at least $3.5 billion in revenues.
1. Second LNG Carrier Order
Tsakos Energy Navigation has placed an order for a second LNG carrier at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea, scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2029.
2. Newbuilding Program and Secured Revenues
This new order brings TEN’s newbuilding program to 20 vessels, complementing the Anfield DP shuttle tanker due in July 2026 under a minimum 10-year charter with a U.S. oil major (extendable to 20 years), securing at least $3.5 billion in revenues.
