TSMC reported third-quarter net profit of T$763.1 billion, up 69% year over year and above forecasts, its sixth consecutive record quarterly profit. It expects fourth-quarter revenue of $52.3 billion to $54.3 billion but said it is planning cautiously for 2027 amid macroeconomic uncertainties.
TSMC reported net profit of T$763.1 billion ($23.59 billion) for the July-to-September quarter, up 69% from a year earlier and above the T$746.3 billion LSEG SmartEstimate. It was the company’s highest-ever quarterly net income and its 11th consecutive quarter of profit growth.
TSMC expects fourth-quarter revenue of $52.3 billion to $54.3 billion, compared with $33.73 billion a year earlier, and maintained its 2026 capital spending expectation of $60 billion to $64 billion. Chief Executive C.C. Wei said demand remains “extremely robust” and the company sees no sign of a slowdown in the AI mega trend, but is being “prudent” in planning for 2027 because consumer and price-sensitive markets face rising component prices and macroeconomic uncertainties.
Analysts say demand for TSMC’s AI chipmaking capacity and CoWoS advanced packaging remains strong. The company is investing $265 billion in Arizona chip factories, including an additional $100 billion unveiled in July, and was reportedly evaluating a potential investment in Texas.
