TSMC's third-quarter revenue surges to record, beating market forecast
TSM•TSMC reported record third-quarter revenue of T$1.49 trillion ($46.71 billion), up 50% year on year and above the T$1.46 trillion market forecast, driven by demand for AI applications.
1. Record quarterly revenue
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. reported third-quarter revenue of T$1.49 trillion, compared with T$989.92 billion a year earlier. The result beat the T$1.46 trillion forecast from an estimate based on 19 analysts.
2. September sales rise
September revenue rose 54.6% year on year to T$511.86 billion. In July, TSMC forecast third-quarter revenue of $44.6 billion to $45.8 billion.
3. Earnings report next week
TSMC did not provide forward guidance in its revenue statement. It is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings next Thursday, when it will update its outlook and plans for the current quarter and the rest of the year; analysts expect net profit to rise 64% year on year to T$740.8 billion.
