Q2 profit more than doubles on higher retail load
TXNM Energy said its second-quarter GAAP and ongoing earnings per share more than doubled year over year, driven by higher retail load and rate relief.
The US regulated utility said higher retail load at both PNM and TNMP contributed to earnings growth. PNM benefited from rate relief and TNMP from rate recovery mechanisms and interim rates.
Higher depreciation, property tax and interest expenses from new capital investments partially offset the earnings gains.
