U Power Completes 30 Battery-Swapping Trucks for Thailand, 1,000-Vehicle Plan Launched
U Power completed production of 30 battery-swapping electric heavy-duty trucks for Thailand and will ship them in late May 2026 under a 1,000-vehicle deployment plan with Whale Logistics. Operational testing and full-stack integration in early March validated performance, safety and compatibility within U Power’s intelligent battery-swapping ecosystem.
1. Production Completion
Production of the first 30 battery-swapping heavy-duty trucks designated for Thailand concluded following comprehensive operational testing and full-stack system integration in early March, confirming vehicle performance, safety and compatibility with U Power’s battery-swapping infrastructure.
2. Pilot Deployment and Timeline
The 30 trucks are scheduled for pilot shipment to Thailand in late May 2026, where they will operate with Whale Logistics’ fleet to collect data on battery-swapping efficiency, vehicle utilization and integration within existing logistics networks.
3. Strategic Expansion Plan
Under a collaboration with Whale Logistics and SAIC Hongyan’s UNEX EV brand, U Power aims to deploy up to 1,000 battery-swapping trucks over three years, using insights from the Thailand pilot to refine its commercial model and expand across Southeast Asia.
