Uber, Pony.ai expand partnership to deploy 2,000+ robotaxis across Europe

Pony.ai supplies Level 4 autonomous driving technology, rider experience and operational expertise, while Uber provides bookings, payments and customer service through its platform.

Local fleet partners may run day-to-day operations, with vehicle funding and ownership varying by market.

Uber expanded a strategic partnership with Pony.ai to deploy more than 2,000 robotaxis across Europe.

The rollout extends from an existing commercial service in Zagreb to four additional European cities, with phased announcements planned.

The agreement also includes plans to expand robotaxi deployment into the Middle East.
