1. Dubai Self-Driving Taxi Pilot
Uber has launched a pilot service in Dubai using Baidu’s Apollo autonomous vehicles, deploying a test fleet on public roads under local regulatory approval. The program aims to validate performance in urban traffic and pave the way for broader rollout across the Middle East.
2. Acquisition of Getir’s Turkish Delivery
Uber agreed to buy Getir’s Turkish food delivery arm for $335M in phased cash payments through 2026 and will invest an additional $100M to grow grocery, retail and water delivery services. The deal strengthens Uber’s presence in Turkey’s delivery market and leverages Getir’s local infrastructure to scale operations.
