Uber will integrate Zoox’s robotaxis into its app with fleets launching in Las Vegas this summer and Los Angeles by mid-2027, leveraging 20+ AV partnerships and targeting 15 cities by end-2026. Uber signed an MoU with Nissan and Wayve to pilot Nissan Leaf robotaxis in Tokyo by late 2026.

1. Zoox Partnership and Fleet Rollout

Uber will integrate Zoox’s purpose-built robotaxis into its app with dedicated fleets managed by Zoox in Las Vegas launching this summer and in Los Angeles by mid-2027. Zoox currently operates tests in 10 US cities, and the collaboration could extend to additional markets.

2. Nissan–Wayve Tokyo Robotaxi Pilot

Uber has signed a memorandum of understanding with Nissan and Wayve to deploy Nissan Leaf electric vehicles equipped with Wayve’s AI driving system for robotaxi rides hailable through the Uber app. A pilot featuring safety operators will begin in Tokyo by late 2026, with potential for expansion via licensed taxi partners.

3. Autonomous Vehicle Strategy and Market Outlook

Uber has formed more than 20 AV partnerships and aims for active services in 15 cities by end-2026 across US and international markets. Analysts highlight that Uber’s 160 million mobility users could drive lower-priced AV offerings, noting a recent 25% share pullback presents a compelling entry point with a $110 price target and buy rating.
