UBS joined a Swiss consortium to test a Swiss-franc stablecoin, adding SIX and TWINT as new partners.
Sandbox testing uses the CHFD stablecoin, live since late June, pegged 1:1 to CHF.
Partners will run live use-case trials in a controlled environment, aiming to shape Switzerland’s digital-money ecosystem and competitiveness.
The test phase is open-ended and is expected to run through end-2026, assessing value creation, operational hurdles, technical needs and regulatory requirements.
