UBS to Hire 3,000 Staff in India, Cut 3,000 Swiss Positions
UBS will hire 3,000 staff at a new Hyderabad center to bolster technology and operations during its Credit Suisse integration, while cutting roughly 3,000 Swiss positions via attrition and early retirements. As of Dec. 31, 2025, total headcount was 119,589 following Q4 cuts of 2,793 roles and 9,394 year-over-year.
1. India Expansion Drives Headcount Shift
UBS Group AG plans to add between 2,000 and 3,000 employees at a new Hyderabad center over the coming months to strengthen its technology and operations capabilities as part of the Credit Suisse integration. This move leverages India’s talent pool and cost efficiencies to support digital transformation and automate processes across its global business.
2. Swiss Reductions and Wealth Advisor Recognition
In parallel, UBS aims to reduce approximately 3,000 positions in Switzerland through natural attrition and early retirement measures, aligning workforce levels with post-merger needs. Separately, 49 UBS financial advisors in the U.S. Southeast were named to the Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-in-State list, highlighting the firm’s wealth management strength without directly affecting the integration roadmap.
