Udemy’s Study Shows 67.5% of Upskilling AI-Focused and Sets Feb 5 Earnings Release
Udemy’s report with Indeed shows 67.5% of upskilling is AI-focused while AI appears in only 4% of job listings, highlighting a skills gap in tech and manufacturing. Udemy will report Q4 and full-year 2025 results on Feb 5, 2026 without a conference call due to its pending Coursera merger.
1. Udemy and Indeed Study Reveals Major Skills Mismatch
Udemy today published joint research with Indeed titled “The Future-Proofing Instinct,” analyzing job postings and employee upskilling between September 2023 and September 2025 across Australia, India, the UK and the US. The report found that just 4% of job listings reference AI, even as 67.5% of employee learning efforts focus on AI skills. In the technology sector, workers dedicate 95% of their upskilling to AI, while only 17.5% of fast-growing tech job posting skills are AI-related. Manufacturing employees spend 60% of learning time on AI despite zero AI mentions in the sector’s top job posting skills. Meanwhile, soft skills such as communication, critical thinking and leadership rank highly in employer demand but barely appear among Udemy’s fastest-growing course enrollments, highlighting a growing gap in foundational workforce capabilities.
2. Udemy Schedules Q4 and Full-Year 2025 Results Announcement
Udemy will report its fourth quarter and full-year 2025 financial results after market close on Thursday, February 5, 2026, but will not host a live earnings call in light of its pending combination with Coursera. The press release will be made available in the “Quarterly Results” section of Udemy’s Investor Relations website. The merger remains subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, underscoring the strategic shift toward consolidating leadership in the AI-powered skills acceleration market.
