UK court refuses permission to appeal in diesel emissions lawsuits against carmakers
F•London's High Court refused claimants permission to appeal its July decision, which broadly found in favour of some of the world's biggest carmakers over diesel emissions. The claimants must apply directly to the Court of Appeal.

Judge Sara Cockerill said claimants must apply directly to the Court of Appeal after the High Court refused permission to appeal its July decision. The earlier ruling rejected most allegations that certain diesel vehicles had unlawful “defeat devices” that led to higher emissions.
