Ukraine drone attack damages oil refinery in Russia's Yaroslavl, governor says

YANOS has a crude processing capacity of 300,000 barrels per day, or 15 million metric tons per year.
Industry sources say the refinery processed 14.9 million metric tons of crude in 2024, producing 2.6 million tons of gasoline, 4.0 million tons of diesel and 4.7 million tons of fuel oil.
Damage at Yaroslavl refinery unclear
Authorities in Russia's southern region of Krasnodar said a fire broke out at an industrial site after drone debris fell on it. No injuries were reported and the fire was quickly put out.
Russia and Ukraine have exchanged strikes on infrastructure and other economic targets in recent months, seeking to disrupt each other's war efforts and undermine morale.
The extent of damage at the Yaroslavl refinery was not immediately clear. The YANOS plant in Yaroslavl is owned by Slavneft SLAVI.RTS, which is jointly controlled by Rosneft ROSN.MM and Gazprom Neft SIBN.MM.
Located about 250 km (155 miles) northeast of Moscow, the refinery has been a previous target of Ukrainian drones. Industry sources said it halted processing at two of its three crude distillation units after a drone attack on Aug. 28.
Drone strike damages Yaroslavl refinery
Sept. 17 (Reuters) - A Ukrainian drone attack damaged an oil refinery in the Russian city of Yaroslavl, causing a fire that was later doused, regional Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said on Thursday on the Telegram messaging app.
The rare acknowledgement by Russian authorities of strikes on oil refineries followed U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of an energy truce between Russia and Ukraine on Monday, although neither side has confirmed any such agreement.
