United to Restart Daily Houston–Caracas Flights Aug. 11 on 737 MAX 8
United will resume daily nonstop service between Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Caracas’s Simón Bolívar International Airport starting August 11 on a Boeing 737 MAX 8, marking its first U.S.-Venezuela route since 2017. The launch expands Houston hub capacity ahead of a $2 billion Terminal B upgrade adding 22 new gates.
1. Route Resumption
United will resume daily nonstop service between George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS) starting August 11, operating flight UA1046 at 23:45 outbound and UA1045 at 08:00 return. This marks United’s first U.S.-Venezuela route since it was suspended in June 2017.
2. Houston Hub and Connectivity
IAH serves as a key economic gateway with up to 100 daily flights to over 50 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, plus connections to more than 180 global destinations. Later in 2026, United will open a $2 billion Terminal B at IAH, adding 22 mainline gates and the largest United Club in its network.
3. Boeing 737 MAX 8 Experience
The Houston–Caracas route will deploy a Boeing 737 MAX 8, featuring seatback screens with Bluetooth connectivity, access to Apple TV, HBO Max, Spotify and Peacock, roll-aboard bag space for all passengers, and soon Starlink Wi-Fi. Tickets are available now on United’s website and mobile app.
