Universal Display said at least 2 billion active OLED smartphones are using its PHOLED technology, estimating 1,343 GWh of annual electricity savings and 902,295 metric tons of CO2 avoided.

Universal Display outlined its OLED materials licensing model, centered on phosphorescent emitters and hosts, supported by 7,000+ patents issued or pending.
The presentation highlighted energy-efficiency gains from red and green PHOLED with fluorescent blue, cutting smartphone display power use to about 77% of 2015 levels.
It projected a further reduction to about 25% of current power use with full red, green, blue PHOLED versus fluorescent-blue designs.
2025 revenue breakdown
The company reported 2025 revenue of $651 million, including $353 million from OLED materials and $275 million from royalty and license fees.
