Q2 results improve on higher revenue and stronger profitability
Universal Insurance Holdings posted Q2 2026 GAAP diluted EPS of USD 2.04, up 68.6%, as revenue rose 6.7% to USD 427.03 million.
Net income available to common stockholders climbed 68.7% to USD 59.19 million; annualized return on average common equity increased 6.9 percentage points to 38.8%.
Profitability improved as the net combined ratio narrowed 6.2 percentage points to 91.6%, driven by a 7.5-point drop in the net loss ratio to 64.8%.
Direct premiums written increased 4.1% to USD 621.31 million, with 0.8% growth in Florida and 14.4% growth in other states.
CEO Stephen J. Donaghy cited favorable claims and litigation trends tied to Florida legislative reforms, adding litigation inventory has returned to pre-crisis levels.
