UPS to hire 100,000 temporary workers ahead of peak holiday season
UPS•UPS said it is hiring 100,000 seasonal employees across hundreds of U.S. locations for this year’s holiday shipping season.
1. Holiday hiring plans
UPS said it is hiring 100,000 seasonal employees across hundreds of U.S. locations to help sort, move and deliver packages during the holiday rush. Daily parcel volumes tend to double during the busiest period, and temporary hiring typically rises from late November to early January.
2. Workforce changes
The seasonal hiring comes as UPS has reduced its permanent workforce. In January, the company said it would cut up to 30,000 operational jobs and close 24 facilities in 2026 as it scales down shipments for its largest customer, Amazon, and shifts toward more profitable shipments.
