US agency to rewrite rules to reduce vehicle headlight glare
XLI•The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it will rewrite vehicle lighting standards to address headlight glare and allow newer safety-improving technologies.
1. Lighting standards review
NHTSA plans to update rules covering LEDs, dusk sensors, automatic high beams and replaceable light sources. The agency will also evaluate headlamp height and aim and their effects on driver visibility.
