USB•In a U.S. Bancorp CFO survey, 68% were positive on the three-year U.S. economic outlook, up from 58%. CFOs cited revenue growth, acquisitions and AI investment as priorities, while geopolitics, borrowing costs and inflation remained top risks.
1. Survey findings
Revenue growth nearly matched cost-cutting as a top finance priority, at 35% versus 37%. Exploring acquisitions moved into the top three priorities, and 59% expected higher industry deal activity. Some 69% cited meaningful opportunity from AI, while 51% said spending on AI tools exceeded budget. Top macro risks were geopolitics at 38%, high borrowing costs at 35% and inflation at 34%.
