CHICAGO, Aug. 18 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were largely steady in the U.S. Midwest on Tuesday, a spot check of locations showed, as soybean futures climbed, corn traded near flat and parts of the Midwest continued to see showers.
Basis bids for soybeans rose at an elevator in Cincinnati, Ohio, but fell at a river terminal in Toledo, Ohio. They were flat at other locations in the spot check.
Basis bids for corn were unchanged at all locations in the spot check.
Basis bids for soft red winter wheat weakened at an elevator in Cincinnati and were unchanged elsewhere.
Showers are expected to continue in parts of the Midwest, but not as heavy as the previous week, according to forecaster Commodity Weather Group, with 15-20% of soy crops in the Central and Southeast Midwest affected by flooding and surplus moisture.
Most active CBOT soybeans Sv1 rose 7-1/2 cents at $12.23-1/2 per bushel by 11:20 a.m. CDT (1620 GMT). Most active corn Cv1 lost 1 cent to $4.88-1/2 per bushel, while most active wheat fell 6-3/4 cents to $6.68 per bushel.
