US crude stocks fall, gasoline inventories rise, and distillates are little changed, EIA says
USO•US crude inventories fell by 3.2 million barrels to 424.1 million, while gasoline stocks rose by 0.4 million barrels to 204.7 million. Distillate stockpiles were little changed at 105.1 million barrels.
1. Weekly inventories
Crude inventories fell by 3.2 million barrels in the week ended October 2, compared with analysts’ expectations for a 1.7 million-barrel increase. Gasoline stocks rose by 0.4 million barrels, versus expectations for a 1.7 million-barrel draw; distillate stockpiles were little changed, compared with expectations for a 2.1 million-barrel drop.
