US drone firms gain as Trump announces tariffs on drone imports

Tariffs will take effect in 21 days, the White House said.

For components of drones that are not particularly sensitive, the tariffs will take effect 180 days after signing, it said.

Shares of some U.S. drone companies rose in premarket trading after U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he will impose tariffs on imports of drones and their components, including from some key U.S. allies.

Unusual Machines (UMAC.A) shares were up 15%, Red Cat Holdings (RCAT.O) added 8%, and AeroVironment (AVAV.O) gained 3%.

Other firms including Aureus Greenway Holdings (PUSA.O) added 5.2%, while Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS.O) advanced 1.5%.
