US energy chief Wright says he will speak with firms on boosting refinery throughput

MIDLAND, Texas, Aug 17 (Reuters) - U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said he will speak with U.S. companies on Monday about how to boost refinery throughput in an attempt to lower gasoline prices that remain stubbornly high in the wake of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.
Lowering gasoline prices will come from increasing refinery throughput in the U.S. and around the world, Wright told reporters at the oil rig site in Midland operated by ExxonMobil XOM.N.
