US GoldMining says Whistler access road qualifies for expedited federal permitting
USGO•U.S. GoldMining said its proposed 78.5-mile West Susitna Access Project road qualifies for emergency federal permitting procedures expected to significantly shorten processing times. Federal funding of US$249 million supports a 32-mile Port MacKenzie rail extension, with Alaska’s development authority committing up to US$34 million.
1. Expedited permitting
U.S. GoldMining said emergency federal permitting procedures apply to the West Susitna Access Project. The proposed 78.5-mile road would provide year-round access to its wholly owned Whistler gold-copper project and connect it with existing infrastructure.
2. Permit and rail funding
The Army Corps of Engineers is evaluating the permit application after comments closed on its September 25, 2026, public notice. Federal funding of US$249 million supports a 32-mile Port MacKenzie rail extension, and Alaska’s development authority committed up to US$34 million.
3. Regional permitting example
Neighboring developer Nova Minerals secured all required Phase 1 antimony permits in approximately three months.
