A federal judge dismissed the Taylor v. Zillow lawsuit in full on July 27 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
The court granted Zillow Group’s motion to dismiss, rejecting all claims in a 100+ page complaint despite five amended filings.
Judge James L. Robart cited Zillow’s repeated disclosures, calling plaintiffs’ “lack of notice” theory implausible.
The ruling also rejected claims that Zillow’s tools increased homebuyer costs, noting only two of 11 plaintiffs used Zillow Home Loans.
The judge said plaintiffs failed to plead specific facts tying standard business practices to injury, dismissing every count.
