August 3 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes opened higher on the first trading day of August as signs of de-escalating tensions in the Middle East dragged down crude prices, while investors prepared for another week packed with earnings and economic data.
At 11:30 a.m. EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 1.04% at 53,031.59. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 1.14% at 7,575.07, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 1.72% at 25,809.78.
