Sept. 11 (Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures trimmed gains on Friday as investors weighed the consumer inflation report for August.
A Labor Department report showed the Consumer Price Index rose 3.4% on an annual basis last month, in line with estimates. On a monthly basis, it rose 0.4%, also matching expectations.
Excluding volatile food and energy components, core CPI increased 2.4% annually in August, same as what economists had expected. It stood at 0.3% on a monthly basis, compared with expectations of a 0.2% rise.
At 8:34 a.m. ET, Dow E-minis YMcv1 were up 347 points, or 0.67%, S&P 500 E-minis EScv1 were up 46 points, or 0.61%, and Nasdaq 100 E-minis NQcv1 were up 213 points, or 0.73%.
