US Stocks-S&P 500 edges higher as investors await Big Tech earnings

At 12:10 p.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI rose 190.81 points, or 0.37%, to 52,415.45, the S&P 500 .SPX gained 13.32 points, or 0.18%, to 7,522.52 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC lost 8.42 points, or 0.03%, to 25,828.26.
Among other movers, AT&T T.N rose 3.8% after the telecom firm added more wireless subscribers than expected in the second quarter.
Philip Morris International PM.N gained 3% after stronger cigarette demand helped the company beat quarterly results estimates.
Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by a 1-to-1 ratio on the NYSE, while declining issues outnumbered advancers by a 1.42-to-1 ratio on the Nasdaq.
The S&P 500 posted 13 new 52-week highs and one new low, while the Nasdaq Composite recorded 36 new highs and 68 new lows.
