US stocks-S&P 500, Nasdaq rise with chips boost; Iran and megacap earnings in focus

On Monday at 2:21 p.m., the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI fell 143.74 points, or 0.28%, to 52,002.68, the S&P 500 .SPX gained 17.49 points, or 0.23%, to 7,474.82 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC gained 138.54 points, or 0.54%, to 25,658.78.
Among the S&P 500's 11 major industry sectors just three were gaining on Monday, including energy .SPNY and the heavyweight technology .SPLRCT and communications services .SPLRCL sectors.
Alphabet and Domino's among movers
Alphabet, up 1.7%, was among the strongest boosts after a report that its Google unit is developing a Gemini-integrated server chip aimed at improving AI efficiency and easing computing-capacity constraints.
Among other individual movers, Domino's Pizza DPZ.O was up 2.2% after the pizza chain's quarterly revenue edged past Wall Street estimates.
