US Stocks-Wall St falls as tech earnings spark AI spending worries; oil hits $100

At 11:55 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI fell 534.25 points, or 1.02%, to 51,684.33, the S&P 500 .SPX lost 101.77 points, or 1.36%, to 7,397.19 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC lost 620.61 points, or 2.42%, to 25,070.29.
Chip stocks, which have recently hit a volatile patch, were also lower mostly. Texas Instruments TXN.O fell 3.1% despite forecasting quarterly revenue above estimates.
Defense giant Lockheed Martin LMT.N rose 10.3% after lifting 2026 sales and profit forecasts.
Thermo Fisher Scientific TMO.N jumped 9.8%, as the medical equipment maker raised its annual profit forecast after beating estimates for second-quarter results.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers by a 3.18-to-1 ratio on the NYSE and by a 3.16-to-1 ratio on the Nasdaq.
