US Stocks-Wall Street ends down, calls for AI slowdown pummel chipmakers

The S&P 500 declined 0.48% to end the session at 7,619.94 points.
The Nasdaq declined 0.56% to 26,186.41 points, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.29% to 52,421.17 points.
Eight of the 11 S&P 500 sector indexes declined, led lower by information technology .SPLRCT, down 1.68%, followed by a 1.44% loss in industrials .SPLRCI.
Volume on U.S. exchanges was relatively heavy, with 15.3 billion shares traded, compared to an average of 14.8 billion shares over the previous 20 sessions.
Other notable stock moves and valuation
ServiceNow NOW.N, Adobe ADBE.O and Workday WDAY.O rallied between 4% and 7.4%. Those and other software stocks have sold off in recent sessions over worries that competition from AI companies could hurt their margins.
