1. Treasury yields decline
U.S. Treasury yields headed for their biggest daily drop since August 2025 on Thursday as investors flocked to safe-haven government debt amid an AI-driven technology selloff. The 10-year yield was down 11 basis points at 5.08%, on track for its largest one-day decline since early August 2025 and near its lowest since late September. The two-year yield fell 7 basis points to 4.73%.
2. Global bond demand rises
The sharp drop in technology stocks weighed on global equity markets as crowded bets on data centers and other key AI plays faced a reckoning from high and rising interest rates. Selling boosted demand for safe-haven government bonds, pushing U.S. yields down across the curve. Yields on bonds in Germany, France and the UK also fell.
