1. Talks cover peace proposal
Negotiators for the US, Ukraine and Europe held six hours of talks in Miami to work toward a unified proposal to end the war in Ukraine. A person familiar with the discussions said the goal is to agree on a proposal in the coming weeks and present it to Russia before winter.
2. Security and territory discussed
The talks included US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Ukrainian delegations and representatives from Europe and NATO. Topics included security guarantees, a post-war economic plan for Ukraine, a pathway to EU accession, ideas on territory and a Europe-Russia security architecture.
3. Diesel deal draws criticism
Trump said Russia had agreed to supply diesel to global markets to help lower fuel prices, while his administration lifted sanctions on Russian fuel. Zelenskiy criticized the move, saying the money would go toward the war. Putin said an immediate resumption of peace talks was unlikely, citing Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow.
