Vale starts commissioning Serra Sul +20 iron ore expansion project in Brazil

The Compact Ore Crusher project is scheduled to start up in 4Q26, also aimed at boosting S11D flexibility.
Vale expects Serra Sul +20, Capanema, and VGR1 to support its plan to lift iron ore output to about 360 million tons by 2030.
The project’s mining operating license was granted in September 2025.
Serra Sul +20 starts commissioning phase
Vale began commissioning the long-distance conveyor belt for the Serra Sul +20 iron ore expansion, starting the project’s start-up phase.
Serra Sul +20 targets 20 million metric tons per year of added capacity at the S11D complex in Pará, Brazil.
