Valero’s ESG report highlighted expanded low-carbon fuels capacity, including renewable diesel output of 1.2 billion gallons per year.
A large-scale SAF project at Port Arthur, Texas entered full operations, enabling upgrades of about 50% of 470 million gallons renewable diesel capacity.
Valero said its 2025 short-term GHG goal has already been exceeded, targeting reductions and displacements equal to 63% of 2011 global refinery Scopes 1-2 emissions.
The company’s 2035 target aims for reductions, displacements and CCS equal to 100% of 2011 global refinery Scopes 1-2 emissions, with validation cited.
Benicia refinery operations may be idled, restructured or ceased
Valero also filed notice to potentially idle, restructure or cease Benicia refinery operations by end-April 2026 amid tighter California regulation.
