Valion Bio says U.S.-funded Entolimod safety study for radiation-induced GI injury starts this week
VBIO•U.S.-funded program and study timeline
Valion Bio disclosed a U.S. government-funded AFRRI/NIAID program testing Entolimod for lethal radiation-induced gastrointestinal injury.
Results have not been presented; top-line therapeutic data are expected in early fall.
A safety study is set to start this week to confirm tolerability in AFRRI’s mouse strain.
A follow-on therapeutic study will test post-exposure dosing to support survival and gastrointestinal recovery in a model designed to isolate GI benefit.
A positive readout could broaden Entolimod’s positioning as a radiation countermeasure beyond blood-system protection, strengthening its strategic value for preparedness programs.
