Van Lanschot Kempen taps Aegon AM as strategic partner for alternative fixed income
AEG•Van Lanschot Kempen agreed to take over Aegon Asset Management’s Dutch fiduciary management business, covering EUR 26 billion in assets. The deal is expected to take effect in Q3 2027, subject to closing conditions, with client migrations planned in phases through mid-2028.
1. Fiduciary business transfer
Kempen agreed to take over Aegon Asset Management’s Dutch fiduciary management business, covering EUR 26 billion in assets. About 30 Netherlands-based Aegon employees are expected to transfer as part of the move.
2. Partnership and timing
The transaction is expected to take effect in Q3 2027, subject to closing conditions, and client migrations are planned in phases into mid-2028. Aegon will remain a strategic partner for Kempen in alternative fixed income, including advisory and portfolio components for AFIS.
3. Kempen scale
The transaction lifts Kempen’s fiduciary scale from EUR 98 billion in assets under management as of June 30, 2026.
