Vaxcyte reports positive Phase 3 data for VAX-31 pneumococcal vaccine
PCVX•Vaxcyte said VAX-31 met all prespecified primary endpoints across age groups compared with PCV20 and/or PCV21 and was well tolerated; the company expects results from two other Phase 3 trials in the first half of 2027 and plans a BLA submission in the first half of 2028.
1. OPUS-1 results
Vaxcyte reported positive topline data from OPUS-1, its pivotal adult Phase 3 trial of the 31-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine candidate VAX-31. The candidate met all 32 noninferiority comparisons in adults aged 18–49 versus adults aged 50–64, and its safety profile was similar to PCV20 and PCV21 across all ages.
