Venture Global is reportedly holding early-stage discussions on long-term contracts to supply LNG from its Louisiana export facilities to at least three Chinese importers, including PetroChina. The potential supply to PetroChina would exceed 1 million tons per year.
2. Trade and supply context
China imposed a 15% tariff on US LNG in February 2025 and stopped buying US LNG the following month. Venture Global and PetroChina did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
