Shares of apparel retailer VF Corp rose about 3% to $14.90 after J.P. Morgan upgraded the stock to “neutral” from “underweight,” while maintaining its $18 price target.
J.P. Morgan said VF’s fiscal 2027 sales and profit are on track to meet or beat consensus, with growth anchored by The North Face, Timberland and Altra. It said Vans declines are being contained and Spring 2027 wholesale orders provide “high visibility” to second-half improvement.
The brokerage said VF remains on track to reach roughly 10% operating margins by fiscal 2029, helped by more full-price selling, better inventory planning and a shift toward higher-margin brands and premium products. Eight of 25 brokerages rate the stock “buy” or higher, 15 “hold” and two “sell”; their median price target is $16. The stock was down about 20% year to date through the prior close.
