Vicor says USITC opens patent probe into vertical power delivery modules and computing systems
VICR•The USITC voted on Oct. 9, 2026, to investigate imports of vertical power delivery modules, components and computing systems that allegedly infringe a Vicor patent. Vicor is seeking a limited exclusion order and cease-and-desist orders.
1. USITC investigation
The investigation covers vertical power delivery systems, components and computing systems that include them. Respondents include Delta Electronics, Infineon, Monolithic Power Systems, Flex, Celestica, Quanta, Luxshare, Foxconn and Ingrasys. Vicor is also seeking cease-and-desist orders; OEMs or hyperscalers importing affected systems may need a Vicor license, with royalty rates escalating as the case advances.
