Vir Biotechnology's hepatitis delta therapy achieves undetectable virus in all 28 patients completing 96 weeks in Phase 2 trial
VIR•Vir Biotechnology said all 28 patients who completed 96 weeks of its Phase 2 trial had undetectable hepatitis delta virus. The company also reported that its pivotal Phase 3 ECLIPSE 1 trial met all endpoints and said it plans to submit to the FDA in mid-2027.
1. Phase 2 results
Expanded Phase 2 SOLSTICE results showed sustained viral suppression with elebsiran and tobevibart in chronic hepatitis delta. Liver stiffness improved or remained stable, and treatment was generally well tolerated. Early exploratory findings showed sustained viral suppression after treatment discontinuation; longer follow-up continues.
2. Phase 3 and filing
Vir Biotechnology said its pivotal Phase 3 ECLIPSE 1 trial met all study endpoints, supporting a planned U.S. FDA submission in mid-2027.
