Vir names David Liu chief medical officer effective Oct. 12, 2026
VIR•Vir Biotechnology named David Liu executive vice president and chief medical officer, effective Oct. 12, 2026. He will lead clinical development, medical affairs and regulatory affairs as the company advances its Phase 3 chronic hepatitis delta program.
1. Leadership appointment
Liu joins Vir from Nuvation Bio, where he served as chief medical officer and built its global clinical research and development organization. He previously served as chief medical officer of 3D Medicines and held roles at Celgene, Bristol Myers Squibb and AstraZeneca.
