The company also unveiled new stablecoin initiatives, building on a network of over 160 stablecoin-linked card programs to streamline digital currency transactions.
1. Partnership with OpenAI
During the Payments Forum 2026 on June 10, Visa revealed a strategic alliance with OpenAI to embed its payment rails directly into ChatGPT. This move allows conversational AI users to complete purchases instantly, leveraging Visa’s global network to facilitate seamless merchant transactions.
2. Expansion of Stablecoin Initiatives
Visa introduced enhanced stablecoin programs, expanding its existing portfolio to more than 160 stablecoin-linked card offerings. These initiatives aim to accelerate tokenized payment adoption by enabling stablecoin settlements across merchants and digital platforms, reducing friction in cross-border and digital asset payments.
