VV

Visa Canada unveiled a pop-up street soccer park at Nathan Phillips Square with two mini pitches and contributed CAD 200,000 to the City of Toronto’s Soccer for All Legacy program. The park will remain open until July 19 then relocate to a permanent city site following FIFA World Cup 2026.

1. Street Soccer Park Launch

Visa Canada officially opened the Visa Street Soccer Park at Nathan Phillips Square, featuring two mini pitches designed for community play. The facility offers a mix of scheduled city programming, community bookings and open drop-in sessions for informal soccer until July 19.

2. Toronto Legacy Program Donation

Alongside the park installation, Visa Canada pledged CAD 200,000 to the City of Toronto’s Soccer for All Legacy program, which funds free sport access and resources in equity-deserving neighbourhoods for up to one year. The contribution aims to remove barriers and encourage youth participation in soccer.

3. Relocation and Permanent Site Plans

Following the FIFA World Cup 2026, the temporary park will be dismantled and reassembled at a permanent city location, with site details to be announced by municipal authorities. The permanent installation will continue providing long-term community sports infrastructure.

4. Broader Tap In to Impact Campaign

The street soccer initiative is part of Visa’s global Tap In to Impact campaign, which allocates CAD 275,000 to nonprofits in each World Cup host country. In Canada, this includes a partnership with Futurpreneur to support young entrepreneurs and community builders alongside celebrating local artistry through a global football-inspired art collection.
