Vishay Unveils VOx619A Optocouplers with 0.5 mA Forward Current, +125°C Rating

VSHVSH

Vishay Intertechnology launched VOx619A phototransistor optocouplers featuring a 0.5 mA forward current and linear CTR >75% up to +125°C across four package options. The devices deliver 50% lower power draw than predecessors with up to 5000 VRMS isolation for energy-efficient industrial and telecom designs.

1. Product Launch

Vishay Intertechnology introduced the VOx619A series of phototransistor optocouplers combining a high and linear current transfer ratio over temperature with a low forward current of 0.5 mA. Engineered for industrial, energy metering, telecom, micro mobility and consumer applications, these devices enable precise signal transmission in DC/DC converters and programmable controllers.

2. Performance Improvements

Compared to previous-generation optocouplers, the VOx619A series cuts forward current by 50% while maintaining CTR above 75% from -55 °C to +125 °C. Traditional optocouplers often see CTR drop below 50% at elevated temperatures and are only qualified to +85 °C or +110 °C.

3. Package and Isolation Options

The VOx619A series is available in DIL-4, long-creepage LSOP-4, compact SOP-4 and half-pitch SSOP-4 packages. DIL-4 and LSOP-4 versions provide up to 5000 VRMS isolation with ≥7 mm creepage, while SOP-4 and SSOP-4 deliver 3750 VRMS isolation with ≥5 mm creepage, saving board space.

4. Availability and Lead Times

Samples and production quantities of the VOx619A optocouplers are available now with standard lead times of eight weeks. All devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free and part of Vishay’s environmental green portfolio.
