Vista Gold appoints Gavin Ferguson managing director of Australian unit

He previously served as general manager of Nevada Gold Mines’ Carlin Mining Complex, overseeing operations producing about 1.4 million ounces annually.
His remit included an annual operating budget of about $2.1 billion, with $300-$500 million in sustaining and growth capital.
Ferguson has held senior roles at Kinross Gold, K92 Mining, Teranga Gold, Newmont Mining and AngloGold Ashanti.

Vista Gold appointed Gavin Ferguson managing director of Vista Gold Australia, effective Sept. 7, 2026.
Ferguson will be based in West Perth to lead the Australian project execution team for the Mt Todd gold project.
