VivoPower Names SpaceX Engineer to Advise on 41.5 MW Norway Site and 300 MW Pipeline
VIVO•VivoPower has appointed Porter Harris, former lead battery engineer at SpaceX’s Falcon 9 and Dragon programs, to its Advisory Council to advance AI data center power, battery storage and thermal management strategies. He will support scaling the 41.5 MW operational Mo i Rana site, 40 MW under development and a 300 MW pipeline.
1. Advisory Council Appointment
VivoPower has added Porter Harris, former lead battery engineer at SpaceX, to its Advisory Council to guide development of power systems, behind-the-meter storage and thermal integration across its sovereign AI data center platform.
2. Scaling AI Data Center Platform
The company operates a 41.5 MW data center in Mo i Rana, Norway, has 40 MW under construction and a 300 MW project pipeline across the Nordics, Middle East and Western Europe to support high-performance AI compute workloads.
3. Porter Harris’s Technical Expertise
Harris led battery system design for SpaceX’s Falcon 9, Cargo Dragon and Crew Dragon programs, holds 22 patents in high-voltage energy systems and founded a venture studio focused on advanced energy storage and electrification technologies.
